The team you'll be part of

The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia's Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.

The New Product Introduction (NPI) team is responsible for assessing new release optical platforms, hardware and feature release and determining feasibility of field deployment. As part of this process, the team provides feedback to Manufacturing and Global NPI on improvements related to form, fit and function as appropriate from initial assessment, field trials and from ongoing information coming back in from the field integration teams.

The team is responsible for creating best practice procedures and documents to be used by the field integration teams to implement hardware as greenfield networks or integrated into existing optical networks. In addition to this, the team provides training, enablement and support for internal and external (deployment partners) resources. NPI also engages in field trials and use case testing providing lab set up, test documentation, and Customer facing communication regarding trial status and issues as appropriate.

What you will learn and contribute to

As part of our team, you will:

  • Represent Ntwork Infrstructure's NAM Optical Engineering (interests) within Nokia for new product introduction into field keeping technically abreast of new features, technologies and industry architectures
  • Work along side Customer during field trial and use case testing
  • Engage internal Nokia teams as necessary to resolve issues related to new product release and reports Customer concerns and product change requests
  • Assist in maintaining repositories for internal references, help guides, deployment references, training VoD library and Ensures records of Customer engagements are archived for reference

Your skills and experience

You have:

  • The ability to organize, give direction, and support other team members; you should be able to interpret and ensure policies are followed
  • The ability to influence others, communicate with leaders of other organizations and present information in a meaningful manner
  • Recognized technical and industry expertise, typically 5+ years of relevant optical networking experience
  • Background in Network Management Systems (NMS), server environment SW deployment management

It would be nice if you also had:

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Nokia Optical platforms knowledge preferred with extensive knowledge of long haul, metro, and IP/Optical
  • Background in server environment S/W, virtualization, Linux, Open APIs such as RESTful, TAPI, Kafka, scripting and automation
