Job Title: Optical Operations Manager
Location: Hungary - Budapest (GeoDesy)
Purpose of the job:
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Operations Manufacturing Manager to join our growing team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production, high-quality products, and a safe work environment. You will play a key leadership role, collaborating with internal teams like Supply Chain, Engineering, and other operational functions to optimize processes and achieve production goals. Additionally, you will directly manage employees within the Optics department and provide overall site leadership.

- Production Management:
- Develop and implement production plans that meet customer demands and quality standards;
- Oversee the entire production process, ensuring smooth operation and adherence to schedules;
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity;
- Conduct regular production audits to identify and address any potential issues;
- Manage inventory levels and ensure timely availability of materials for production.
- Employee Management:
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of manufacturing employees.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment that prioritizes safety and quality.
- Ensure compliance with all labor laws and regulations.
- Optics Department Management:
- Provide direct leadership and oversight for the Optics production department;
- Ensure the department functions effectively and meets production goals;
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to guarantee the accuracy and consistency of optical components, conducting regular inspections and collaborating with quality assurance teams;
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, staying informed about advancements in optical manufacturing techniques and incorporating best practices;
- Oversee the maintenance and calibration of optical equipment.
- Site Leadership:
- Provide overall leadership at the manufacturing site, ensuring smooth operations and employee well-being;
- Manage budgets and resources effectively;
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment for all employees.
- Collaboration:
- Partner effectively with internal teams including Supply Chain, Engineering, and other operational functions;
- Communicate clearly and transparently with stakeholders across all levels;
- Work collaboratively to identify and resolve production challenges.
- Bachelor's degree in Optical, or Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred);
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing operations management role;
- Proven track record of success in increasing production efficiency and quality;
- Strong leadership and communication skills;
- Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with team members across diverse functions;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (a plus);
- Experience managing and developing a team (a plus);
- Experience in the optics industry (a plus);
- Strong safety focus and commitment to a safe work environment.
