Title: Optical Systems/Optical Engineer
Duration: Project Based Long-Term Vendor 
Location: Redmond, WA

Hours: Minimum 40 Hours/Week
 
Role:
- Design and simulate optical systems for eye tracking and face tracking applications using Zemax and LightTools
- Perform sequential and non-sequential ray tracing to optimize system performance
- Model and simulate illumination systems, including light sources and optical fibers
- Develop and analyze camera models, including sensor and lens simulations
- Set up and run optical models involving multiple components and films/coatings.
- Conduct forward and backward non-sequential ray tracing for stray light analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate optical systems with hardware and software components.
- Analyze and optimize system performance, including image quality, distortion, and signal-to-noise ratio.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports.
- Expertise in optical system design, simulation, and analysis using industry-standard software such as Zemax and LightTools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sequential and non-sequential ray tracing, illumination simulation, camera modeling, and stray light analysis.
 
Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in optical system design and simulation.
- Proficiency in Zemax and LightTools, including sequential and non-sequential ray tracing.
- Experience with illumination simulation, camera modeling, and stray light analysis.
- Strong understanding of optical principles, including radiometry, geometrical and physical optics.
- Experience with eye tracking technology or related fields (e.g., ophthalmology, computer vision).
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++.
- Familiarity with CAD software and mechanical design principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Education BSEE, or Master's Optics, Physics, or similar field.
