The Optimization Engineer I manages completions operations projects and optimizes operations by utilizing data and automated processes to make data-driven decisions. This role is also responsible for developing and managing processes and tools that allow operations to gain efficiencies and key insights. The Optimization Engineer I understands analytical methods and performs analysis to improve performance and ensure targets are achieved.

The Optimization Engineer responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Strong ability to manage Completions operations projects while utilizing technology to enhance automation

• Evaluation and implementation of opportunities for improving workflow processes and automation of processes

• Create applications using available tools for field users to make real-time decisions during frac and drillout operations

• Develop and manage processes for generation and maintenance of accurate datasets and reporting of key metrics

• Analyze data to identify reasons for under/over performance, and recommend actions to improve performance

• Understand analytical theories and best practices to solve problems in daily operations

• Construct forecasting models and communicate outcomes to management

• Support with project budgeting and monthly accruals

• Analyze costs to understand variance from performance targets and cost projections

• Work closely with leadership to identify and reduce non-productive time and manual processes

• Communicate and interact with operations and support departments to deliver information/data needs and requests in a timely fashion

• Develop insights for leadership to easily understand performance and key business metrics

• Ensure compliance with state regulations and company policies

Required Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

• Effective verbal/written communication skills, including technical writing, with ability to communicate complex subjects to leadership and supporting departments

• Ability to analyze data to develop recommendations and provide alternatives

• Strong decision making, problem solving and trouble shooting skills

• Experience working with databases (SQL)

• Experience with scripting and coding (R, Python)

• Power BI and/or Spotfire development and knowledge

• Experience with GitHub documentation

• Knowledge of basic engineering concepts, fundamentals, and theory

• Ability to contribute within a team environment

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• 1 years of oil and gas industry experience, Completions logistics and/or completions drillout experience preferred

• PLC/RTU/HMI knowledge

• Knowledge of communication protocols such as MQTT, Modbus TCP/IP

• Grafana, InfluxDB knowledge

• Experience with cloud providers (Azure)

• Previous experience with containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

• Exposure and basic understanding of APIs

Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states: Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Louisiana, New Jersey, and New York unless willing to relocate.
