What you will do

  • Under specific direction, assists to execute, and complete Central Utility Plant projects with assigned customers.
  • Assists with tasks, as required, to execute and fully complete assigned projects including hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning and project closeout.
  • Manages communications with the customer during all phases of the project.
  • Assists in the proper execution of post-implementation customer support.
  • Operates on the job with the highest of ethics.
  • Adheres to and ensures that all Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors comply with all safety standards.

How you will do it

  • Assists in the design and configuration of software programming using established standards as required.
  • Provides detailed information to communicate design and operation to customers, Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors.
  • Evaluates the contractual scope of work and the impact of client issued bulletins, field directives and/or scheduling changes. Communicates both technical and business- related issues with the project lead.
  • Assists in the coordination and creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation based on JCI standards.
  • Assists with jobsite coordination for panel and field device physical locations.
  • Ensures installation is in accordance with Johnson Controls literature and project requirements.
  • May provide field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software.
  • Keeps Branch Project Manager informed of job progress and issues to communicate with JCI contractor or customer
  • Participates in release meeting with project field team.
  • Identifies product related defects including algorithm sequences and software platform bugs. Assists in collecting data and collaborating with project lead for correct processing. Assists with organizing data for Solutions Database article.
  • Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 4 years equivalent field experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.
  • Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (i.e. LON, BACnet, etc.).
  • Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience. Demonstrated advanced computer skills required, particularly computer-related drafting tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% including some international travel.

Preferred

  • Preferred location of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, or New Mexico.
  • Master's degree or Professional Engineer Registration desired.
  • Strong background in Metasys suite of tools.
  • Programming capability for multiple makes/models of building automation systems (BAS) and programmable logic control (PLC) system.
