LS Technologies is looking for a Database Administrator to support the challenging task of modernizing the legacy FAA Flight Management capabilities.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for documenting the existing Oracle database schemas and learning the flight management domain sufficiently to understand the semantics and meaning of the data.
- Help relocate multiple Oracle database instances into new target environments. These environments include the Cloud and potentially on-premise solutions.
- Provide DBA expertise on Oracle in support of system performance tuning, capacity planning, maintenance patching and new version installation.
- Provide ongoing DBA management and/or improvement of activities related to a part or to the whole of the database technical infrastructure (e.g., as it relates to database, application, information systems, security, telecommunications networks, interoperability, etc.).
- Responsible for modifying/tailoring database schemas, developing database scripts, performing database deployment duties, and post deployment support.
- Ability to demonstrate the proper techniques used for database backup and restoration, managing database performance and performing typical security lockdown procedures.
Requirements
- Technical expertise and hands on experience as a database administrator of Oracle databases in all phases of the development lifecycle.
- Experience manipulating multiple databases to identify anomalies and trends, or experience analyzing data or other information.
- Experience in Conceptual and Logical data modeling is a plus
- Experience in UML for documenting the project's data model is a plus
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, with diverse audiences.
Experience and Education
- 5+ years of Oracle DBA administration experience
- 8+ years of general database experience
- Oracle Database Administration Certification(s) preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Information Systems or related field
