Oracle Engineer- Senior

Position Overview:

The Senior Oracle Engineer will take a leadership role in designing, implementing, and maintaining a DoD financial management system using Oracle technologies. This position requires advanced knowledge of Oracle Database, Cloud Infrastructure, and DevSecOps, with the responsibility of ensuring the security, scalability, and performance of mission-critical systems. The Senior Engineer will provide mentorship to junior staff and serve as the technical lead on complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture, deployment, and maintenance of Oracle Cloud ERP, Oracle Databases, and Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS).
• Oversee infrastructure services (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) deployments, ensuring alignment with DoD cybersecurity standards.
• Define and implement custom image needs, software versioning, and patch levels in OCI.
• Lead the automation of system integrations using Terraform, Ansible, and other DevSecOps tools.
• Oversee cross-endian re-platforming of IPPS-A’s Oracle PeopleSoft application from Solaris on SPARC to Linux on x86-64.
• Lead ‘Run and Maintain’ efforts for Oracle cloud environments, ensuring operational readiness and SLA compliance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for Oracle software integrations, working closely with partners and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance on best practices in Oracle engineering, security, and DoD compliance.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 7+ years of experience with Oracle applications, databases, and cloud technologies in a DoD or federal government environment.
• Expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Advanced experience with Oracle EBS, Oracle Financials, and PL/SQL performance tuning.
• Secret Clearance
• 8140 IAT Level II certification
• Oracle Certified Master (OCM) or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certified Architect Professional (or certification in process).

Desired Skills:

• Mastery of Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in advanced cloud and infrastructure services, RESTful web services, and complex software integrations.
• Programming expertise in Java (Spring framework), Python, Golang, C++, and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular).
• In-depth knowledge of DoD financial compliance, security requirements, and IPPS-A’s Oracle PeopleSoft ERP application platform.

Location: Hybrid (with a mix of on-site and remote work)
