Your role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Orbital Debris Senior Project Manager to join the team with our Engineering Division located at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.
What you'll do all day:
- Lead flight hardware projects for the JACOBS JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS II) contract associated with orbital debris.
- Lead of a team of engineers to develop mechanical or electrical hardware for space flight.
- Develop key project requirements and verifications.
- Develop integrated schedules and cost estimates as part of a project plan.
- Manage risk throughout the life of the project, including cost, schedule, and technical risks.
- Ensure and document compliance with space flight hardware requirements and processes.
- Effectively communicate project status to both JETS II management and the NASA customer
- Establish a healthy project team environment.
- Coach and mentor other members of the project team.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Are a self-starter and require little oversight to complete given tasks

Minimum requirements for this position:
- Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering and may be expected to have a related master's or higher degree and normally possess 15+ years of related experience.
- Demonstrated leadership skills as evidenced by prior leadership of a NASA flight hardware project.
- Prior experience with development of payload hardware for deployment on the International Space Station (ISS), including prior experience working directly with international partners.
- Prior experience with JSC Engineering Directorate processes for engineering project management such as EA-023.
- Prior experience with orbital debris measurement and/or analysis.
- Experience in management of technical, cost, and schedule elements of hardware development projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, a team-oriented approach, strong problem-solving capability, and mentoring skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, technical knowledge, and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
