Oronite Oak Point Financial Analyst
Job Description
Job Overview:
Chevron Oronite, a subsidiary of Chevron Corporation, is a world-class developer, manufacturer and marketer of lubricant and fuel additives and chemicals. Oronite's construction of the Oak Point Plant was a direct result of a request from the U.S. government during World War II, as the strategic location of the plant provided a critical source of oil additives to the eastern seaboard. The products we make are becoming more complex to manufacture and our customers' expectations are increasing. To be successful, we will have to meet these challenges by maximizing our current assets, finding more efficient ways to handle more complex operations, and making smart investments that yield the highest value to the business. The Financial Analysts at Oak Point are positioned to help the plant respond to these challenges by partnering with the business to promote financial fluency, maintain integrity of inventory and product costing, conduct basic project economic analysis, and use data to develop actionable results through new digital solutions.
Job Description:
- Participate in Product Costing (variable and fixed costs of producing Oronite products) activities, including actual vs. expected variance analysis, preparation of quarterly expected product cost build up, and ad hoc analysis from the Business.
- Leads special projects and finance initiatives, including cross-functional opportunities at the plant to eliminate, simplify, standardize, and automate processes.
- Coordinates team fluency building (digital, financial fluency, commercial fluency, etc.).
- Decision support analyst for multiple functional groups at the plant responsible for performing OPEX variance analysis, presenting financial results to the business and plant leadership, developing the annual business plan, updating the monthly financial forecast, helping with expense determinations, and understanding inventory impacts.
- Participate in compliance engagements and SOX testing activities.
- Advance Oak Point digital initiatives by promoting our finance digital journey.
- Actively contribute to partnering with global collaboration networks for key initiatives.
This is a great entry-level finance role working closely with our manufacturing operations and an endless amount of career growth and development opportunities. Upon completion of this role there are opportunities to move into other positions in nearby Chevron offices as well as in major US hubs such as Houston, TX. This position offers a hybrid work schedule (T - TH in office, M & F work from home). This position also offers a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off).
