How you'll make a difference:

The Orthobiologics Specialist is a multi-purpose marketing position to support the promotion, management and marketing of SeaSpine's Orthobiologics product portfolio. The position(s) are based at the Company's Carlsbad corporate office. Orthobiologics Specialist is an orthobiologics subject matter expert, providing technical and clinical support to surgeon customers and training to internal sales teams and distributor partners. The Orthobiologics Specialist will support existing and emerging product lines, create marketing collateral, analyze market trends and plan and coordinate the launch of new products. The Orthobiologics Specialist may travel up to 40% to support sales calls, distributor trainings, and other field related activities. The Orthobiologics Specialist will work closely with product marketing, research and development, and sales teams to execute SeaSpine's strategic initiatives related to surgeon adoption and Orthobiologics sales growth.

Field Support Responsibilities (35%):

  • Develop outstanding SeaSpine and competitive product knowledge to effectively position and support our product sales.
  • Work closely with TSMs/RBMs (Territory Sales Managers/Regional Business Managers) and distributor partners to support conversion of surgeon customers to SeaSpine orthobiologics.
  • Coordinate and execute local trainings with TSMs/RBMs, and/or distributors and participate in distributor onboarding trainings (e.g. onsite, offsite and/or online).
  • Provide technical support to the sales force and assist in meeting sales objectives.
  • Develop strong working relationships with surgeon customers, sales management, internal partners, and distributors.
  • Support the product marketing team with market input, competitive analysis, product evaluation participation, and feedback.

Education and Training Content Creation (35%):

  • Develop educational tools (e.g. PowerPoint slides, Podcasts, webinars) for internal and external sales trainings.
  • Update existing training tools, orthobiologics presentations and incorporate new & emerging products and company's strategic vision.
  • Translate scientific studies into effective white papers while also supporting scientific publication and presentation efforts.

General Product Marketing Responsibilities (30%):

  • Manage day-to-day progress of select Orthobiologics product lines (e.g. sustaining legacy product lines) including forecasting responsibility.
  • Collaborate with relevant cross functional team members such as finance and supply chain to collect and analyze technical, financial, and sales information for product line.
  • Participate in overall product strategy, research and development requirements for new and emerging products.
  • Conduct marketing analysis to develop competitive sales tools and materials comparing product with its key competitors.
  • Develop and maintain a prioritized list of customer and market requirements for product.
  • Conduct market research and identify and track market trends in company's history.
  • Plan, organize and develop product support and release packages.
  • The successful candidate will be flexible and support shifting responsibilities and tasks to respond to rapidly evolving business needs.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • PhD or Master's in Biomedical / Biotech / Material Sciences or related field preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communicate skills to that is comfortable with all levels of peers and leadership, distributorships, hospitals, and buying groups.
  • Critical thinker with strong attention to detail, and ability to problem solve and establish solutions in a high-growth and fast-pace environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with surgeons and sales teams.
  • Ability to collaborate on projects / programs in a cross-functional, geographically dispersed environment in a timely and effective manner.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft software systems.
  • Must exhibit superior organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality while interacting with staff (at all levels) and customers in a fast-paced environment, sometimes while under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects to achieve established goals and objectives.
  • Ability to work off hours as required, including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically as needed, up to 40% of the time.
  • Must be able to work at both Irvine and Carlsbad locations when needed.
  • Must be able to adhere to SeaSpine's Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to the departments-controlled environments.
  • Requires the ability to obtain and maintain applicable hospital credentialing.
  • Medical device experience in sales or marketing, focus on spinal implants or orthobiologics preferred.

The anticipated salary for this position is$125,704 to$138,858 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
