OSP Design / QC Specialist

Job Description

Cyient Inc. currently has an opening for a Quality Control Specialist, responsible for OSP Fiber, 5G, HFC, and BAU work orders in the various locations within California. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, intelligent individuals with previous engineering and Field data collection experience. Ideal candidates will have previous experience designing multiple OSP telecom projects simultaneously, including (but not limited to) Pole/Make Ready, O'Calc data processing, aerial design and application process, and be experienced with client software systems including SpidaCalc and Quick Pole.

Candidate must be able to self-manage their work load and work schedule. The candidate should also have excellent team building skills and team support to supplement Supervisor's efforts.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree (preferred)
• Must have experience in the Telecommunications Outside plant engineering and/or construction industry.
• Should have good understanding of basic computer concepts and technology. Experience with the following design programs: Ike, Quick Pole and SpidaCalc is strongly preferred.
• Should have strong understanding of Design and construction of Fiber Optic Cable (UG, Aerial, Buried, BICS) and aerial pole make ready and pole loading analysis (strongly preferred).
• Knowledge of Fiber backbone (F1) and distribution networks (F2), 5G/Smart City high level designs is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of pole attachment application and authority permitting processes (highway, railroad, city, county, etc.) are also highly desired.
• Should be proactive and a self-learner.
• Possess strong professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Advanced analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to read, understand, interpret, input, and analyze data.
• Should have good attitude and ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to communicate daily progress status to all reporting managers & stakeholders.
