About the team

The UK Outbound Sales team sits at the heart of SumUp's merchant growth engine, responsible for bringing our financial tools to the small businesses that need them most. What you'll do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Executives through 1:1s, call shadowing, deal reviews, and hands-on pipeline support
  • Own outbound strategy end to end β€” from territory planning and account sourcing to messaging and sequencing β€” and translate it into consistent team execution
  • Identify performance gaps, build clear action plans, and drive accountability across revenue, activation, and outreach quality
  • Use data to track performance trends and turn insights into practical improvements at both individual and team level
  • Partner closely with the Head of Sales UK to shape outbound strategy, share what's working, and contribute to hiring and onboarding as the team scales

What we’re looking for

  • Solid background in outbound sales, including hands-on experience managing and coaching Account Executives in a similar environment
  • Deep knowledge of the full outbound toolkit β€” cold calling, sequencing, objection handling, territory planning β€” and a track record of coaching others to do it well
  • Experience in payments, fintech, or hospitality with a strong understanding of the SMB landscape and what motivates merchant customers
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with fast, practical execution β€” spotting what's broken and fixing it without losing momentum
  • Comfort working in a turnaround or high-growth environment where resilience, data-driven decision making, and a coaching mindset are non-negotiable
