Job Description
The Outreach Coordinator supports the operational and administrative functions of a multi-year program designed to shrink health disparities in the San Gabriel Valley. In addition to developing and managing community partnerships, this role supports the management and growth of an AmeriCorps cadre working with the organization.Â

This is a grant funded position through 07/1/2025 with the possibility of renewal through 11/30/2025
Responsibilities:
- Support planning and coordination of the program activities and operationsÂ
- Organize and coordinate the development of all featured events, outreach activities, meetings, and materialsÂ
- Coordinate and maintain applicable program schedules and agendas, which may include tracking deadlines, deliverables, communication with management and/or stakeholdersÂ
- Lead outreach activities in the assigned underserved and marginalized communities
- Provide direction to 5-8 AmeriCorps personnelÂ
- Serve as a Team Lead to a team of Program Coordinators
- Serve as a Liaison to the program’s community partners and stakeholdersÂ
- Use software apps and tools to collect and report relevant data tracking community health metricsÂ
- Other duties as assigned by the Program and Area ManagersÂ
Scope and Travel:
- Extensive travel by foot and by car within specified neighborhoods of the San Gabriel Valleyas well as travel to and from CORE’s Los Angeles Headquarters (Chinatown)Â
Qualifications:
- Preference for candidate with bachelor’s degree in public health or health sciences, or at least two year’s equivalent experience in relevant fieldÂ
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year experience in public health, healthcare settings, community outreach or related fieldÂ
- Experience in community outreach, conducting surveys, and collecting data
- Experience working with community-based organizations, local government agencies, volunteer groups in LA County (preferred)Â
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a teamÂ
- Excellent written and verbal communication skillsÂ
- Proficient in MS Office applicationsÂ
- Knowledgeable of HIPAAÂ
- Flexible and adaptive to a frequently changing environmentÂ
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skillsÂ
- Close attention to detail and a high level of accuracyÂ
- Bilingual in English and one of the 4 languages of program emphasis (Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish & Vietnamese; reading/writing capabilities in the aforementioned languagesrequired)Â
- Ability to walk 4-5 miles/day
- Ability to walk in areas of urban terrain, which may include hills and stairsÂ
- Ability to walk in hot and cold weather conditionsÂ
- Reliable transportation is requiredÂ
