Outsource Trading Assistant

Job Purpose:

BTIG seeks a Trading Assistant to support and interact with the Outsource Trading Team. This individual must be able to work in a high-pressure environment, multi-task, exercise sound decision making skills, as well as have the ability to maintain complete confidentiality. A successful candidate will be able to anticipate and address both the trader’s and the client’s needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform hands-on tasks to gain knowledge of day-to-day activities through order execution, position management, trade checking and reconciliations
• Be a part of an entrepreneur-like and collaborative environment where you will have the opportunity to partner with all aspects of the business and have the flexibility to apply their knowledge to directly affect the group
• Continuously communicate and collaborate on all areas of the business, working directly with senior traders in the group
• Become familiar with client focus lists and strengthen their relationship building skills
• Participate in special projects as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Ambitious, self-motivated and disciplined with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen interest in the trading industry
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High level attention to detail
• Team player with a hard work ethic and “can do” attitude
• Ability to work on and prioritize numerous tasks simultaneously and independently within an intense, high stress environment
• Excellent customer service skills; desire to attend client functions to further develop relationships (some evening events and seminars required)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly draw conclusions and communicate results effectively
• Ability to independently manage and see situations through to completion
• Proficiency in Excel and be willing to learn other systems such as Fidessa and Bloomberg

Additional Skills:

• Trading experience a plus, but not a requirement
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships
• Licenses: Series 7, 63 & 55 preferred (or BTIG will sponsor)

Compensation: 

• BTIG offers competitive compensation and is required by law to include an estimate of the salary range for each role. Salary range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, years of applicable experience, skills, qualifications, licensure and certifications, and other business and organization needs.
• The current base salary range for this role is $75,000 - $200,000 per year. Please note that certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus.
