We are now incredibly excited to be recruiting a studio Art Director who will both improve and drive art for PUBG, but also champion our exciting new endeavors.

Our state-of-the art studio is in the heart of Madison, WI – recently named the best place to live in the US with more than 200 miles of hiking and biking trails, an incredible downtown farmer’s market, gorgeous scenery, and affordable cost of living. The Capitol building is steps away from the office, where you can enjoy a concert on the square or some awesome local food and drink.

As an Outsourcing Manager, you will be responsible for managing the relationship between PUBG and external development partners. You will oversee the entire outsourcing process from selecting vendors, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality assets, to maintaining clear communication and fostering strong relationships with our partners. This role requires a deep understanding of the video game development process, excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Identify, evaluate and manage relationships with external development partners including freelancers, vendors, and outsourcing studios.
• Develop and implement outsourcing strategies, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with internal development teams to define project scope, asset requirements, and deliverables for outsourced work.
• Establish and maintain clear channels of communication with external partners, ensuring timely and accurate feedback on asset quality and progress.
• Monitor and manage the progress of outsourced work, ensuring that milestones are met and deliverables are received on time and within budget.
• Perform quality control checks on all incoming assets, providing constructive feedback to external partners and ensuring that assets meet project requirements and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, fostering a collaborative working environment and resolving any issues that may arise.
• Collaborate with internal teams to integrate outsourced assets into the game, ensuring seamless integration and consistency with the overall game vision.
• Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in outsourcing and game development, continually identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and quality.
• Prepare outsource contracts for legal review, owning the process to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Develop comprehensive scope of work documents for outsourced projects, clearly outlining deliverables, timelines, and quality expectations to ensure alignment between internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years experience in the Video Game industry, with at least 3 years in a management or outsourcing role.
• Deep understanding of the game development process including art, animation, design and production.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira.
• Familiarity with game development engines, specifically Unreal Engine.
• A proven track record of successfully managing complex outsourcing projects involving multiple external partners.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic outsourcing plans that support the company's growth and objectives.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with teams such as legal, finance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth outsourcing processes.
