How will your role impact First Command?

The Overseas Operations Advisor (OOA) is the Current Servicing Advisor (CSA) to First Command clients who are serviced by Financial Planners in Germany and any National Branch unassigned clients outside of the United States. Their primary capacity is to collaborate with the Financial Planners in Germany to provide comprehensive plans and product recommendations to current and new clients. The OOA will assist the Planners in Germany with building a Financial Plan. The OOA is required to develop and deliver the Implementation Module of any Financial Plan. This fiduciary duty includes, but is not limited to, putting the client's best interest above the Financial Advisor and German Planner, providing personalized guidance in support of Financial Plans, and offering suitable Plan recommendations consistent with First Command and First Command Europe's philosophy. A secondary capacity exists to call clients to confirm their trade requests or anything that may require a licensed and registered OOA. Client contact is conducted through video conferencing, telephone, and email. The position of OOA reports directly to the Director, National Branch.

What will you be doing?

  • Partner with Financial Planners in Germany to help increase their level of production through Plan Building and providing specific product recommendations.
  • Place trades with First Command trade desk or directly with the Investment Company after confirming request by phone with client
  • Service specific products and financial planning needs of clients assigned to Financial Planners in Germany and any National Branch unassigned clients that live outside the Unites States
  • Provide support on Options to Purchase Additional Insurance elections (OPAIs), Decreasing Term conversions, and other service requests from Planners or unassigned overseas clients
  • Use knowledge and problem-solving abilities to solve for client service scenarios and sales actions typically experienced by our overseas clients.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and encouragement as needed to new Financial Planners in Germany.
  • Schedule one-on-one meetings between the Financial Planner and the OOA to strengthen partnership
  • Team meets on a regular basis to discuss methods to enhance partnership with Planners, identify ways to improve processes and maintain the high quality of financial plans and client service
  • Communicate any other relevant information with Team to maintain and enhance our clients' Financial Plans, overall experience, and compliance to the Overseas Operations business model.
  • Bring to the immediate attention of Overseas Advisor Team Lead or National Branch Director when any personnel is not compliant with Overseas Operations Business Model Processes
  • Flexibility to work "Remote" Third Shift and "In Office" Normal Shift Rotational Schedule; Schedule is determined by Financial Planners and Clients needs overseas

Performance Measures

  • Goals established within the Performance Management System.
  • Overall professional demeanor and embodiment of corporate core values as measured by the 3 core competencies.
  • Turn-around times for Financial Plans to adhere to the Overseas Operations Business Model and Service Level Agreement.
  • Number of Appointments, New Money Revenue Credit (NMRC), New Clients Created, and Revenue Credit are tracked and reported to Senior and Executive Leadership.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Within control of the OOA, ensure Planner and client stay in compliance based on the Financial Planning in Germany Business Policy 08-10.

What skills/qualifications do you need?

Education

  • College Degree. (PREF.)
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or related area (PREF.)

Work Experience

  • Two (2) years Sales or Retail experience. (PREF.)
  • Financial services industry experience (Financial Advisor, Associate Financial Advisor, Planning Firm, Banking, Operations, Direct Client Support)

Certifications

  • Must possess and maintain Series 7 & 66 (or equivalent) and Life and Health licenses.
  • Fast Start Academy Certification or equivalent within 6 months of hire

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong desire to directly help First Command Clients and the German Planners who Coach Them
  • Capable of quickly building good rapport with people (Financial Planners and Clients) in a short span of time.
  • Solid command of financial planning concepts, knowledge of financial planning industry and First Command business practices and policies.
  • Strong active listening skills to better understand the planner or client needs and motivations; able to modify communication style to meet planner / client needs and respond appropriately; able to use good judgment when responding and respond to objections successfully.
  • Strong operational knowledge of investment products (mutual funds, AMS, variable annuities), risk products, and bank products offered by First Command and First Command Europe.
  • Ability to competently and clearly discuss issues concerning First Command and First Command Europe products and procedures with clients.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, and verbal/written communication skills demonstrated in a team environment.
  • Outstanding multi-tasking, attention to detail, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to handle a wide variety of situations, deadlines and challenges in a dynamic, high-tempo office environment.
