Paralegal

IXL Learning, a leading EdTech company with products used by 15 million students worldwide, is seeking a Paralegal to join our team. In this role you will provide legal and administrative support to IXL’s General Counsel.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in supporting a wide range of legal areas including but not limited to contracts, business transactions and mergers/acquisitions. You will be able to work independently in a fast paced environment and are well organized and highly detail-oriented. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Build in-depth knowledge of company operations, policies/procedures and legal matters
• Support all aspects of company transactions, entity filings, business licensing and mergers & acquisitions
• Assist with due diligence and post-closing integration and administration as needed
• Ensure compliance with multiple governmental agencies
• Partner with IXL’s leaders on all vendor contracts, assisting with creation or review of contracts, and tracking expiration dates and other details
• Facilitate contract execution, liaising with insurance brokers to obtain proof of insurance and other supporting documents as needed
• Review and process legal bills to ensure appropriate allocation
• Assist with trademark and IP renewals and maintenance and collaborate with the IT team to process domain transfers
• Compose, prepare and maintain confidential correspondence, reports, memos and other documentation

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• BA/BS degree
• Paralegal certification is a plus
• 5+ years of previous paralegal experience in a law firm or business environment
• Knowledge of legal administrative procedures and practices
• Self-starter with strong problem solving skills who thrives in a fast paced environment
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
• Familiarity with document review process and contract management
• High level of discretion and and sound judgment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $145,000 + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
