Paralegal/Legal Operations

Reports to: General Counsel 

 

Position Summary: 

The role of Paralegal is responsible for reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and administering many of the sales and vendor contracts, including answering frequent questions, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. In addition, will assist in building out the legal department, while playing a key role in supporting the contracting function. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for reviewing, drafting, negotiating and/or administering contractual documents establishing business relationships with vendors, customers and/or partners. 
  • Will be a key contributor in supporting the contracting function and will need to maintain collaborative, cross-departmental relationships with business teams and internal stakeholders. 
    • Serve as an initial point of contact for standard contract requests. 
    • Works closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Finance to coordinate contract approvals 
    • Answer frequent questions related to contract terms, conditions, and clauses. 
  • Implement, and own legal processes including document management, signatory management, etc.  
  • Support corporate governance work streams as needed such as business registrations, corporate insurance matters. 
  • Ability to conduct legal research and complete other duties as needed to support the company’s legal and compliance needs. 
  • Execute against a playbook of fallback clauses to ensure compliance with legal requirements. 
  • Assist with contract/document management, including organizing and maintaining a centralized contract repository. 
  • Assist with the document/change management to better manage and track changes to our template and unique customer contract requests. 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant legal regulations. 
  • Must exercise sound judgment and manage sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality. 
  • Perform legal research and provide recommendations to the General Counsel as needed. 

 

Skills and Experience Needed: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in legal studies or paralegal studies. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in a paralegal or legal operations role. 
  • Strong knowledge of legal principles and practices, including minimum 3 years of contract law. 
  • 3-5 years’ experience with sales and vendor contracts, including negotiating and executing contracts. 
  • Familiarity with contract life cycle management tools or documents/change management systems. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with proven record of attention to detail and the ability to multitask. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
