Paralegal

Probate Advance is seeking a Paralegal to support our exceptional team and growing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, independent, and self-starting paralegal looking to advance his or her career while working in a rewarding and team-oriented environment. This position is based in Probate Advance’s Rye Brook, NY office.
Position Responsibilities

• Assembles and drafts contracts, motions, and other pleadings
• Prepares documentation and files contracts with various probate and surrogate courts
• Reviews and understands probate documents and flags concerns
• Work closely on cases with the portfolio management and underwriting team
• Assists with record retrieval and document management
• Organizes and maintains legal files
• Reviews court case files for updates
• Handles special projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree; Paralegal certification preferred
• 3 years’ experience in general litigation or probate and estate work
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Great work ethic
• Demonstrated history of working collaboratively with peers in a team-oriented environment
• Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines in fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products and mail merge function
• Must be able to work in the Rye Brook, NY office
