Paralegal

Cottingham & Butler is looking to hire a Paralegal - this is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the C&B Legal Team! This position will support attorneys in researching and analyzing legal issues, reviewing documents, and ensuring that C&B’s operations comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and other relevant state and federal laws.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain legal files, schedule meetings, and coordinate correspondence.
• Assist with discovery, fact investigation, and legal research.
• Support compliance inquiries and HIPAA training.
• Serve as the HIPAA Corporate Privacy Officer.
• Monitor state reporting obligations for non-HIPAA privacy incidents.
• Manage subpoenas and signature authority.
• Assist with contract review.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires an understanding of legal practices and HIPAA and privacy regulations, strong problem solving and communication skills, and proficiency in Excel & Word.
