About the department
Providing cutting edge services on a global network to a significant portion of the Internet sometimes makes Cloudflare a target for litigation. We're looking for a Litigation Paralegal to join our team responsible for responding to the diverse array of global litigation matters and legal requests Cloudflare encounters. As Litigation Paralegal, you will help organize and manage our global litigation docket, work closely with all parts of the business to develop facts and respond to discovery requests, build and manage systems to scale with our growing business, and collaborate closely with internal and external counsel on all litigation-related matters. The ideal candidate has the passion to keep pace with a fast moving docket, the curiosity to dive deep into evolving technology and law, the organizational skills to manage a steady flow of documents and deadlines, and the initiative to build new systems and processes to make our team better.
What you'll do

• Help respond to subpoenas, threatened disputes, litigation, and government inquiries;
• Manage the litigation hold and document collection process;
• Help conduct factual investigations and collect relevant records;
• Manage internal trackers for litigation, pre-litigation, and government enforcement matters;
• Create, manage, and improve processes to scale our litigation function within the company;
• Work closely with our legal operations team to support outside counsel onboarding and billing review, and to onboard and utilize litigation-related tools;
• Collaborate with outside counsel on all aspects of ongoing litigation;
• Collaborate with legal team members to improve processes, provide training, and ensure business needs are met.

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience

• BS/BA Degree
• 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience either at a law firm or in a company required
• Analytical, process oriented, and strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally, with lawyers and non-lawyers, to establish effective solutions efficiently and in an amenable manner
• Ability to operate autonomously while being a team player who brings a positive attitude to the workplace. Lead with empathy and understanding while embracing diverse points of view. Flexibility to adapt and thrive in a fast paced environment
• Understanding of law firm and vendor services as it relates to process development

Bonus:

• 5+ years prior experience at an in-house litigation department is highly desired
• Prior experience with e-billing, discovery, and workflow management tools
• Experience with Google drive and related products
