Paralegal/Legal Forwarder

One of the fastest growing prominent Commercial Collection Agencies in the United States seeks a self-motivated problem solver to work in Brown & Joseph’s Litigation Department. You will oversee and navigate our client portfolios from initial litigation through post-judgment activity. Qualified candidates will have some knowledge of the civil litigation, legal forwarding and bankruptcy processes with 1-2 years working at a law firm or legal setting. Desired candidates will have knowledge of the commercial collection process, however, this is an administrative position.

Location: Brown & Joseph's corporate office in Itasca IL with remote opportunity

Work Schedule: 8am-5pm Monday through Friday, no weekends or holidays

Responsibilities:

• Communicate daily via e-mail and telephone with clients and attorneys addressing accounts in the department
• Provide each client with a thorough review of their claim by reviewing collector notes, credit reports, fees associated with litigation, etc. 
• Forward approved claims to outside counsel 
• Follow up regularly with attorneys to ensure our clients lawsuits are handled properly
• Assist clients with discovery responses and affidavits
• Prioritize daily work throughout the day to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
• Ability to read and interpret documents (Invoices, Contract & Terms and Conditions for Insurance and Non-Insurance)

Requirements:

• 1-2 years in a law firm or collections setting preferred 
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent communication and written skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Prior client service experiences is a plus
