We are the information security team at Yahoo; known as " The Paranoids ".
What we're looking for:
As a Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of end-to-end features to help make one of the world's largest internet services the most secure and user friendly, working with architects, data scientists, creative product managers and a group of forward-thinking engineers. You must have expertise in object-oriented programming, practiced agile development religiously, are familiar with web and network security and scrum methodology and can use cloud and machine learning. You have an analytical and problem solving demeanor to complement your outstanding communication and presentation skills.
In a typical day, you may find yourself:

• Designing and prioritizing solutions for new features, and participating in design review discussions
• Writing high quality and performant code, unit tests, functional tests, and documentation to implement new features
• Debugging code when it's not doing what you expect
• Reviewing fellow teammates' code
• Participating in weekly scrum team planning meetings and daily stand-ups

Requirements

• Proficiency in either Go, C++ or Java
• Knowledge and experience in building large scale distributed applications using various software design patterns and OO design principles
• Familiarity with web servers and web service APIs
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Development experience in an Unix/Linux environment
• Outstanding communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
• BS / MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Good understanding of web, network and OS security issues.
• Familiarity with cryptographic protocols, open source software, vulnerabilities, performance characteristics, and tradeoffs
• Cross-browser, cross-platform development
• Solid understanding of RDBMS, SQL and NoSQL
• Experience with public cloud platforms like AWS, GCP and Azure
• Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystem and applying machine learning, AI
• Experience in shell scripting and system administration with Linux

If hired for this position in Colorado, the compensation range for this position is between $79,500.00 - $132,500.00. The compensation may vary depending on your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include additional incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, plus equity incentives.
