Position Overview: Parts Sales Representative

Are you ready to be part of a dynamic team that ensures the efficient delivery of high-quality parts to our valued customers? As a Parts Sales Representative, you will play a crucial role within a collaborative environment, working alongside various teams to provide exceptional service and support. This role offers a blend of in-office responsibilities and on-site visits to customer locations within the surrounding region, with occasional overnight travel requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional parts service and sales to sawmills through various channels, including email, phone support, and in-person visits to sawmill sites in the region and surrounding states.
  • Utilize parts manuals, equipment documentation, drawings, and bills of material to understand customer requirements accurately.
  • Interface directly with customers throughout the sales process, enhancing existing relationships and cultivating new ones.
  • Collaborate closely with multiple departments to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Offer timely support to both external and internal customers.
  • Engage with the broader parts sales teams across all locations.
  • Generate equipment inventory lists for assigned customers.
  • Periodic travel, including day trips with occasional overnight stays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Prior inside sales experience (strongly preferred).
  • Experience in buying or selling industrial parts (strongly preferred).
  • Solid mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings.
  • Customer sales and service experience.
  • Familiarity with heavy industrial environments (Sawmill/wood products experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of database systems and Microsoft software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics or other similar ERP system (preferred).

Work Environment:

This role is based in Hot Springs, Arkansas. It entails regular visits to customer sites and the manufacturing floor, where debris, dust, and noise may be present. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required, including hard hat, high visibility vest, steel-toed shoes, eye and ear protection.

Physical Demands:

The role involves talking and hearing, driving long distances, standing for extended periods, walking long distances, climbing tall metal stairs, using hands to handle, and lifting. The work environment may be hot in summer and cold in winter, with exposure to various weather conditions. Frequent presence in safety-sensitive areas is required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Given the nature of the role and its responsibilities, occasional work outside normal business hours may be necessary.

Travel:

This position requires travel to mill sites for customer visits on a rotating basis, approximately one week per month. Collaborative travel with our Burton Mill Solutions Territory Managers for mill site visits will be common.
