Title: Part-Time Student-Structural Analysis Engineering-East Moline IL - 90548
Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position
The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
Your Responsibilities
- Build structural analysis models of harvesting components and systems using finite element analysis (FEA) modeling tools
- Conduct mechanical stress and fatigue analysis of crop harvesting equipment subject to vehicle dynamic and crop processing loads
- Work closely with global design teams to resolve structural and durability issues and enable simulation guided design early in the PDP process
- Write reports summarizing analysis results and design recommendations
What Skills You Need
- Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in mechanical, civil, agricultural, aerospace engineering or a related field; others may apply
- Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university
- Graduation date of May 2023 or later
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
- Available to work 10-20 hours/weekduring the academic year
- Available to work 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
- Able to commute to the East Moline work location on a regular basis year-round
- Strong interest and intuition for mechanical systems and potential failure modes
- Ability to work with global teams across cultures and time zones
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work cross functionally with design and test engineers
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience in product engineering (product design, product testing)
- 3D modeling experience (preferably Creo)
- Completion of relevant course work in strength of materials, modeling and simulation
- Experience in sheet metal or casting structural design
