General Summary:
The Partner Manager (PM) is responsible for proactive customer management, education, development, profitable growth, and retention of specific high growth Broker partners. The PM drives, designs, and executes on inforce growth strategies focused on increasing NBOC/NLOC activity and overall Partner satisfaction.
The PM will work with the associated Sales Consultant, leadership, and internal business areas to build and grow the assigned partnerships to new levels. The incumbent will deliver enrollment expertise, cross-sell recommendations, and renewal guidance (in partnership with the Sales Consultant) to inforce Partner Clients.
The PM will work with the associated Partner Leadership Teams and Account Managers to assist with education, training, and problem solving related to high priority inforce Client issues.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
• Pre and Post-Sale Proactive Client Management, Education, Development, Growth and Retention for the related inforce Partner(s) block of business
• Primary integrated relationship manager for the Partner's block of business
• Develop personal connection with key Partner contacts and decision makers
• Educate and train Partner resources on Unum's technology and processes. Drives problem solving associated with issues arising from the Partner's inforce block.
• In partnership with the Sales Consultant, provide thorough Partner updates, feedback, and other pertinent information and action items that impact sales effectiveness
• Effectively navigate challenges within the Partner's block (mergers, acquisitions, layoffs, reorganizations) that could affect the Unum relationship
• Communicate and serve as the Liaison between the assigned Partner(s) and the Home Office on escalated Customer support (Service, Technology, Claims, etc.)
• Develop and execute on a business plan to drive profitable inforce growth on the Partner's block.
• Responsible for proactive customer development actions within the Partner block to grow revenue and retain customers (Re-enrollments, New Business Old Contract (NBOC), New Lines of Coverage (NLOC), and Retention)
• Drive the overall enrollment and re-enrollment events, strategy, and results of the Partner's inforce Clients through a strong understanding of Unum's capabilities, tools, and technology connections
• In conjunction with sales, proactively manage pre-renewal communications with the goal of improving re-enrollment effectiveness and avoiding renewal distractions during rate guarantee expiration and anniversary
• May perform other duties as assigned
Job Specifications
• Bachelors degree or equivalent business experience required
• Experience in the Employee Benefits industry preferred
• Licensed to sell insurance in the states within the Partner territory (license required within 90 days from the effective date of hire/promotion)
• Strong growth and sales orientation
• Full understanding of the Unum product and service portfolio
• Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel
• Strong technical aptitude - ability to utilize and leverage technology and systems
