Passive Safety Test Engineer

Job Description

1. Plan preparation, organization and conducting Full vehicle, sub system and component level crash safety tests including definition of time schedule.
2. Responsible for planning the test, preparing test schedule, monitoring the preparation, and ensuring a test completion in time.
3. Ensure legal and consumer test protocols are adhered to. Conduct pre and post test measurements, strip downs and analysis. Manage test day activities.
4. Responsible for performing detailed analysis of test, prepared report and provide solution to achieve the performance target requirements for the product being tested.
5. Evaluate data against known criteria - using safety test analysis software's like Diadem, High speed motion analysis.
6. Support the build of test cars and supervise the preparation of the cars for testing
7. Responsible for providing solution to achieve the performance target requirements for the product being tested.
8. Create documents and presentation for meetings
9. Co-ordinate and work with the external crash test labs.
10. Must have thorough understanding of safety test regulations of AIS,ECE,FMVSS and consumer protocol like GlobalNCAP, EuroNCAP etc.

Qualifications

1. The individual have 4-6 years of experience in the field of Automotive crash safety testing
2. The individual must have effective communication skills and be able to face off to various levels throughout the business including suppliers.
3. Applicants should be familiar with all aspects of the vehicle architecture.
4. Applicants should be familiar with Vehicle Safety Integration activity and testing activity.
5. A working knowledge of corporate and legal vehicle safety standards is essential.
6. A good understanding of basic physics / mechanical principles is required.
7. An understanding of CAE tools and techniques would be advantageous.
8. Candidates should have a high level of computer literacy.
9. He / she should be able to demonstrate their ability to work in a team environment, and with minimum supervision.
