Job Description

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

Come join our team! In this exciting and meaningful position, you will be developing statistical models and simulation tools for new semiconductor memory products implemented in emerging memory technologies. Our team works extensively in multi-functional teams across engineering disciplines to identify, understand and resolve problems in state-of-the-art technologies.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Modeling of emerging memory components and systems behavior, including statistical variations such as cell to cell variations
  • Based on these models, develop dedicated simulators (analytical or Monte-Carlo) to predict the product performance and reliability at component & system level throughout the product lifetime
  • In particular, develop a simulation platform expanding the usual circuit simulation capabilities in order to fully capture the memory array read & write operations with realistic memory cell models, array waveforms, delays and data patterns.
  • Benchmark and calibrate the models and simulations to Silicon data to improve the prediction accuracy over time
  • Perform what-if analyses and projections, compare the simulated performance and reliability to the product requirements, propose improvements to the Process, Design, Product Engineering and System teams
  • Develop new or modified Si measurement, modeling and simulation techniques to more accurately predict product performance and reliability

Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and simulating moderately complex circuit. Typical tools: Cadence, SPICE, VERILOG or equivalent.
  • Experience in coding in MATLAB, Python, C++ or similar platforms
  • Experience in analytical and/or compact modeling including, but not limited to, Monte-Carlo techniques
  • Experience in statistical analysis in the context of semiconductor engineering
  • Good understanding of DRAM or NAND or other memory product architectures and/or good understanding of memory component and system architecture (such as SSD or UFS)
  • Good understanding of semiconductor device physics and operation
  • Experience in semiconductor data analysis and/or data collection (parametric, functional) is a plus
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills and techniques
  • Strong interpersonal skills (written, verbal and presentation)
  • Ability to learn new skills and explore unfamiliar concepts

Education and experience:

This position requires an MS and at least three years of related experience or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field
