Job Description
What You'll Do:
Own the Daily Payment Lifecycle: Be the primary point of contact for the end-to-end operational execution of payment processing across all supported channels (e.g. credit/debit cards ACH digital wallets wire transfers).
Operational Monitoring and Incident Response: Proactively monitor payment system performance identify transaction failures reconcile discrepancies and rapidly troubleshoot and resolve operational incidents in partnership with Engineering and Finance teams.
Compliance and Risk Management: Execute daily operational controls including transaction monitoring and reporting to ensure compliance with relevant payment network rules (e.g. Visa Mastercard) and regulatory standards (e.g. AML KYC).
Process Optimization and Efficiency: Identify operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies within the payment flow and drive projects to automate manual tasks improve processing speed and reduce overall operational costs.
Manage Key Payment Relationships: Assist in managing relationships and operational communications with third-party payment providers processors acquiring banks and payment gateways.
Reporting and Analysis: Generate detailed operational reports on key metrics such as authorization rates chargeback volumes fraud trends and settlement timing providing actionable insights to leadership.
Who You Are:
Experience: 2 to 7 years of professional experience specifically within the Payments Industry (e.g. FinTech acquiring banks payment processors or a merchant with a high-volume payment function).
Payments Expertise: Must possess a strong foundational understanding of payment methodologies including authorization clearing and settlement for card networks as well as an understanding of alternative payment methods (e.g. ACH/SEPA/RTP).
Technical Acumen: Ability to leverage internal tools run basic SQL queries (or similar data extraction methods) and analyze large datasets to identify operational trends and root causes of payment failures.
Skills Required
