Payroll Accountant Assistant

We have partnered with a dynamic construction company located in Woodland Hills. The accounting team is seeking to add a Payroll Accountant Assistant who will play a crucial role in supporting the payroll & accounting team.

Responsibilities:

• Process weekly or biweekly payrolls, including garnishments, benefits and taxes to consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws
• Ensures the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely;
• Prepares and audits W-4s, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings, etc.
• Manages regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefits deductions, etc.)
• Reconcile banks
• Maintains employee benefits programs
• Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements
• Completes human resource operational requirements
• Administers benefits programs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2+ years’ experience of payroll processing
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel and payroll systems
