Your Opportunity
  • As a Payroll Analyst, you have an exciting opportunity to join our team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the incumbent's primary role is responsible for preparing bi-weekly & weekly multi-state payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees for all compensation, including salaries, bonuses, commissions, including review of timecards, wage garnishments, setting up new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, tax changes, healthcare deductions, 401(k) deductions, VOE's and other non-recurring pay items including responding to employee related inquiries. The analyst works on a team working with the Payroll Administrators and reports to the Sr. Business Analyst and directly to the Payroll Manager.
  • Work with HR to ensure new hires, state-to-state movements, terminations, status changes, LOAs, tax changes, deductions, direct deposits, rate changes, retroactive adjustments, and special pay are properly recorded in the payroll system and documented.
  • Process all deductions, including garnishments, retirement plans, and benefits contributions as well as election changes for 401(k) participation.
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service to employees who have questions about their pay, deductions, or payroll processes.
  • Assist with quarter-end close activities, including preparation of any auditor-requested schedules and other support.
  • Generate payroll-related reports and/or ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Work with third-party payroll processor for Disbursements, garnishments, and tax uploads
  • Communicate with team members, managers, business partners, vendors, and field staff to research and resolve issues
  • Comply with all company policies and departmental procedures ensuring honest and ethical conduct at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company's internal controls and documentation requirements (SOX) to ensure the quality and efficiency of all payroll functions and regulatory compliance.
  • Work with IT and HR to ensure integrity of data and system setup.
  • Work with Finance, IT, Business Applications, and other business partners to drive the development of reporting and analytic platforms for payroll data
  • Audit payroll before and after it is submitted by pulling reports and using the Balancing tool to reconcile data.
  • Respond to outside agencies and other inquires involving employee payroll and wage records.
  • Oversee manual and historical corrections to pay, time and PTO in accordance with company process and procedures.
  • Process manual checks, wire transfers, reversals, and stop payments.
  • Oversees Shadow Payroll calculations as well as McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA)
  • Works with Prevailing Wage team to ensure integrity and accuracy
  • Other ad-hoc special projects
Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Oracle experience preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel. Must be proficient in other standard workplace applications, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Education & Experience
  • 5 years' payroll and accounting experience in a multi-state payroll department with high volume operations.
  • Experience working in a public company with quarterly auditor reviews, equity grants (options, RSUs and ESPP), and SOX
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation and American Payroll Association (APA) membership a plus.
