As a Payroll & Benefits Specialist on the People Team, you will be responsible for managing the benefits enrollment and administration, conducting payroll, and all aspects of insurance billing and reconciliation. In addition, you will be responsible for the HRIS systems (WorkDay) and all employment related compliance and reporting. You are very detail oriented and organized, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast paced environment.

What You’ll Do…

  • Prepares payroll for review semi-monthly.
  • Reviews all salary increases, promotions, and unit option grants for internal pay equity and current market rates.
  • Oversees the work process in the HRIS system for new hires, terminations, benefits, and departmental salary changes in all HRIS systems
  • Conducts benefit open enrollment in the HRIS system including the set up of plans, processing enrollment changes and coordinates with the insurance broker on staff education and presentations.
  • Reconciles and approves monthly statements for all group insurance policies and maintains statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and cost of services.
  • Resolves administrative issues with carrier representatives.
  • Acts as a staff benefit consultant and serves as the point of contact for case escalation on behalf of both AffiniPay staff members and benefit vendors.
  • Prepares and conducts meetings designed to help the AffiniPay staff remain informed on company benefits and other related incentive programs.
  • Manages benefit slack channels, internal communication and events related to all benefits.
  • Leads all aspects of employee recognition programs such as Motivosity.
  • Research additional cost-effective benefits and perks that support our company culture and staff retention.
  • Assists with drafting HR policies and ensures the staff handbook is updated.
  • Responsible for file management and audits, including I9’s, staff files, and workers compensation and 401K audits
  • Manages employment verifications.
  • Ensures the distribution of required employee notices.
  • Generates monthly time off and payroll related reports as needed.
  • Responsible for compliance related documentation for staff in Texas and other states in which AffiniPay is registered.

About You…

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years experience in HR and payroll administration.
  • Solid understanding of HRIS systems with prior payroll and benefits processing in Workday. 
  • Detailed knowledge of system functionality regarding HR, compensation, and retirement processes.
  • Previous experience in roles with a strong focus on compliance and reporting.
  • Prior experience as an account liaison with an insurance agency is extremely beneficial.
  • Ability to understand and consistently apply Human Resources policies and practices.
  • Has a working knowledge of compliance reporting such as ACA, EEOC, and ERISA.
  • Demonstrates a detailed understanding of compliance and employment related law issues, including unemployment filings and federal, state, and local requirements (COBRA, FMLA, ADAAA, HIPAA, workers compensation).
  • High effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

The pay range for this position is between $60,000 - $70,000 annually. AffiniPay is committed to offering competitive, fair and commensurate compensation and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and education.
