What We're Looking For:

We are looking for a full-time Payroll and Finance Operations Associate with knowledge of payroll processes, systems, practices, and compliance knowledge as well as general foundational finance knowledge. This role will report directly to the VP of Finance and be the go-to point of contact for all Cloud9 payroll-related questions and certain finance operations. The ideal candidate has great attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, has worked in a finance function, and has some basic understanding of California ("CA") payroll laws. Additionally, this will be an opportunity to develop with a high-growth company. The ideal candidate will be eager to take on new responsibilities, build out process improvements, and jump at new problems to solve.

What You'll Do:

  • Research, respond, and resolve payroll issues and follow up as necessary
  • Process timesheets and ensure all information is correct
  • Preliminary audit of payment to contractors
  • Track potential bonuses owed to personnel and players
  • Help with contract adjustments
  • Support the design of streamlined payroll processes
  • Onboard new vendors
  • Process all accounts payable
  • Track prizing payouts for players
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or in a related field preferred
  • At least 1-2 years of payroll or finance experience
  • Entry-level understanding of a Finance function and financial statements
  • Working knowledge of CA payroll laws preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite (e.g., excel, word docs, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable of payroll processes, systems and practices
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • JustWorks, Deel, Quickbooks, or Expensify experience is a plus
  • Esports interest or knowledge

  • The wage range for this role incorporates the multiple factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is of $64,500 - $68,000
  • You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance
  • No equity grant is currently planned for this position
