The Payroll Associate assists in all functions associated with the overall administration of the company's payroll operations.

Major responsibilities of the position are listed below. To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. • Works with outside computer payroll processing operation to process payroll transactions.

• Keys all payroll related data necessary to process payroll and meet deadlines.
• Keeps up to date on the payroll processing system and changes in wage and tax laws.

• Balances, reconciles, and controls payrolls.
• Reviews, edits and corrects errors.
• Calculates and analyzes payroll adjustments, wage and overtime payments, vacation payouts and terminations.
• Builds and assigns all on and off cycle pay runs and stacks pre-processing payroll jobs.
• Processes hourly and salary payrolls.
• Processes all vacation/sick pay requests and maintain tracking spreadsheets.
• Enters employee data changes (W-4's and direct deposits).
• Completes employee income verification forms in conjunction with Human Resources.
• Creates Direct Deposit files.
• Reviews tax withholding requirements and applies tax and FLSA regulations.
• Backs up other personnel within payroll as needed.
• Maintains an organized filing system.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A minimum of three years' work experience in an accounting or payroll office environment.
• Must be detail oriented, possess good problem solving skills and be highly organized.
• Good written and verbal communication skills are necessary to interact with all levels of company personnel.
• Excellent math skills, including percentages, decimals and fractions are required.
• Must have ten key experience.
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Word is required. Strong experience with Microsoft Excel at an intermediate to advanced level is required.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy.
