Payroll Associate (On-Site)
Job Description
Shepard Exposition Services is seeking a Payroll Associate who will process payroll and provide administrative support to associates.
Essential Job Duties
- Enter timecards on a daily/weekly basis
- Administer timecards in the payroll system via direct contact with supervisors
- Set up new hires and process payroll change notices
- Process on-site payroll at show site when applicable
- E-Verify new hires
- Communicate with labor unions; maintain union contract files and union rates spreadsheet
- Research payroll disputes
- Distribute payroll checks in-house and ship throughout the country
- Maintain quality interpersonal relationships with Shepard associates
- Prepare union payouts monthly
- Administer weekly child supports, garnishments, and levies
- Correspond with payroll tax preparer regarding tax notices and issues
- File personnel documents
- Treat all internal and external customers with courtesy and respect, as outlined in our Blue Diamond Customer Service Program
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Demonstrate Core Values of Caring, Commitment, Integrity, Spirit, Responsiveness, Inclusive, and Teamwork
- Ability to perform as a responsible ESOP owner making daily decisions to benefit the client and the company
- 2+ years of experience processing union and non-union payrolls
- FPC certification preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and experience in automatic payroll systems
- Ability to operate a 10-key calculator by touch and other standard office equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent
