Payroll Coordinator

Job Description

BITCO Corporation, headquartered in Davenport, Iowa, is seeking a Payroll Coordinator for our home office in Davenport, IA.BITCO provides quality insurance services to special industries including construction, forest products and oil gas.

Position Summary :

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for providing support to and maintaining day to day payroll functions.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintain and review payroll to ensure timely and accurate bi-weekly processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
• Maintain timekeeping system - input and process PTO (Paid Time Off) adjustments
• Prepare and distribute various payroll related data reports on an annual or as-needed basis
• Maintain employee records and process employee changes - terminations, disability/workers' comp, FMLA, etc.
• Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues, as necessary
• Respond and resolve employee issues or questions regarding payroll
• Process special payments in accordance with company programs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years' payroll processing experience required; experience with ADP payroll software is a plus
• Strong knowledge and familiarity with payroll procedures and payroll taxes
• Excellent attention to detail with ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy
• Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to stay organized, multi-task, and meet deadlines
• Proven ability to complete work independently, as well as work effectively with others
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, payroll system(s), and database software
