POSITION SUMMARY

As the Payroll Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of US and Canada payrolls and all related tax filings, reporting, and systems integrations. You will support all aspects of the payroll process in a growing multi-state environment, working within established checks and balances to ensure payroll compliance, accuracy, and timeliness.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and audit semi-monthly payroll inputs, for both US and CAD payrolls, from various internal sources to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Prepare and audit equity off cycle payrolls.
  • Monitor work against deadlines and alert payroll management to any risks.
  • Validate and upload system files.
  • Review and validate correspondences from tax and government agencies.
  • Oversee and process wage garnishment with government agencies and third-party vendors.
  • Create reports to provide management information.
  • Support finance/accounting needs, including but not limited to semi-monthly, out of sequence payroll general ledger file review to ensure accuracy and serve as the point of contact for finance related questions.
  • Perform monthly payroll reconciliations.
  • Identify and collaborate on improvements and efficiencies to existing processes.
  • Work cross functionally with other teams as needed.
  • Research, analyze and respond to complex matters that require a comprehensive knowledge of payroll policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Completed Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum 3+ years of US Payroll experience.
  • Previous ADP Software experience required. 
  • Knowledge of payroll principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State & Local employment tax laws.
  • Experience with working under deadlines and delivery payrolls with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to self-motivate and completes tasks with minimal support.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple high priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to our headquarters in Cambridge, MA when needed. 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior experience working in a finance role (Account Payable, Payroll, etc.)
  • CPP certification
  • Experienced with Excel Spreadsheets
