Overview
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for ensuring expenses are posting accurately to the general ledger, along with providing detailed analysis to all levels of management. This role will work closely with the Accounting Manager ensuring day to day operational activities are being performed by the standards and processes that have been defined.
Primary Responsibilities
• Compile and analyze payroll data to maintain payroll records including journal entries, month-end close procedures, and general ledger coding• Verify and reconcile accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings related to payroll and other areas as assigned• Complete monthly and yearly budget variance analysis and corresponding audits• Review computed wages and work with corporate partners to troubleshoot payroll errors and SAP software system data entry anomalies• Generate and produce month and year end compensation related reports and analysis• Provide payroll data to accounting, finance and leadership teams on a routine basis and as needed• Work closely with GL team and accounting leadership on various projects• Provide wage analysis to management to assist in position and headcount reporting• Commissions, incentives, & variable bonus plans calculations and review• Produce budgeting workbooks and financial templates annually and as needed• Create and maintain process documents for all divisional payroll reporting procedures• Recommend changes in payroll policies and procedures to continue to improve inefficiencies with the department• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications• 3 years of experience or equivalent education and related experience• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite• Strong Microsoft Excel Skills• Strong organization, multi-tasking, time management and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications• General knowledge of Human Resources programs, policies and practices including SAP software desired• Understanding of GAAP and ability to assist in other general accounting areas• Experience performing manual journal entries and calculations. Familiarity with the Kronos timekeeping system & SAP payroll system• Knowledge in working in a multi-state environment to comply with state laws/regulations• Strong communication skills - written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships• Knowledge of other MS Office Suite and/or software applications related to job functions • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, presentation, and communications skills

- Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
- Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
