- Executes payroll processes, including both on-cycle and off-cycle processing.
- Leads daily payroll tasks to ensure team is meeting processing deadlines. Troubleshoots payroll errors and performs issue resolution.
- Delivers training to internal payroll team as well as new staff and new affiliates on time recording and payroll processing, including conversion follow-up.
- Develops training materials for time and attendance and payroll processing procedures for employees, management staff, internal Payroll caregivers, and new affiliates.
- Reconciles expected earnings to payroll dollars to be paid per PeopleSoft Payroll Summary.
- Codes leave activity for payroll processing.
- Reviews Kronos validity reports and works with applicable time editor to make necessary corrections.
- Administers severance payouts.
- Prepares and coordinates transmittals for wire transfers.
- Assists in preparing unemployment reporting.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- None Required.
Education Required:
- High School Graduate.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in payroll. Experience with PeopleSoft payroll preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong awareness of the confidential nature of the position.
- Previous leadership experience required.
- Good understanding of laws and regulations regarding garnishments, federal and state levies, and wage assignments.
- Good understanding of government regulations and tax laws relative to payroll.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite or similar products.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit 90% of the workday.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally when carrying boxes of time sheets or payroll binders.
- Will be required to use hands repetitively with fine manipulation when sorting time sheets.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the duties of the job.
- Exposed to normal office environment.
- This position requires travel so therefore will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
