What we need:
Brady is seeking a Payroll Manager who will be a self-sufficient hands-on-leader with a business mindset responsible for all aspects of the payroll process supporting approximately 1,750 employees in North America. This role will be responsible for processing both weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, process compliance, inquiry management and resolution, transaction processing and resolving employee and manager questions. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for reviewing the entire payroll process; including vendors and internal processes to improve output and find efficiencies. This unique role is responsible for processing payroll while also managing the overall payroll function for the organization.
What you'll be doing:
- Accurately process end-to-end multi-state payroll for our hourly and salaried employees throughout multiple US and Canada locations using ADP Vantage and Workforce Now payroll systems and UKG Pro Time Attendance.
- Calculate the withholding for deductions including garnishments, and benefits associated with net earnings. Organize and track all child support, garnishments, tax liens and levies.
- Ensure payroll records and processes are in compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices as well as internal SOX controls.
- Coordinate with the payroll vendor on all matters of payroll processing and reporting.
- Act as primary point of contact for payroll related audits.
- Provide internal customer service to employees and HR, ensuring payroll related inquiries or issues are resolved in a prompt and employee focused manner.
- Generate payroll reports for various departments on a per payroll or monthly basis.
- Respond to and/or complete payroll related notices (i.e. VOE's writs/garnishments, IRS notices)
- Drive innovative solutions related to process, operations, and to more fully leverage payroll services.
- Exercise independent judgment to raise questions, detect issues, and perform audits to identify, analyze, and resolve payroll and compliance issues.
What you'll need to be successful:
- 5 years plus of multi-state employer payroll experience with ownership of the entire payroll process from start to finish.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Expert knowledge of laws, internal controls, best practices, and trends in payroll management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with ability to analyze large volumes of data.
- Analytical mindset with a strong attention to detail, ability to solve problems, and think creatively.
- Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Consistent, proven ability to meet goals and expectations.
- Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information
