Job Description
As the Global Payroll Manager at Bungie, you will lead a comprehensive payroll function overseeing a diverse workforce of employees across the U.S., Netherlands, Japan, and Canada. This role demands a seasoned professional with 7+ years of multi-state and international payroll experience, a deep understanding of tax compliance, and a proven record of successfully managing complex payroll operations. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage end-to-end payroll processes for employees across multiple U.S. states, the Netherlands, Japan, and Canada.
- Oversee payroll for various jurisdictions, ensuring accurate processing, tax set-ups, and compliance.Â
- Spearhead all aspects of tax compliance, conducting research and staying updated on local, state, federal, and international guidelines.Â
- Validate employee and employer payroll liabilities and payments, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance for team members, managers, and internal/external partners regarding payroll inquiries, records, and deductions.Â
- Supervise and lead a team of payroll professionals, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.Â
- Work closely with HR to ensure accurate and timely updates for employee changes.Â
- Partner with and support other cross-functional teams across the organization.Â
- Establish a monthly and transactional control review process to ensure payroll processes comply with established internal controls.Â
- Take the lead in communicating with staff on pay-related matters, addressing queries, and providing transparent information.Â
- Ensure the Payroll Team fields employee payroll-related questions promptly and provides clear and concise information.Â
- Manage internal/external audits as well as government agency requests.Â
- Recommend Workday system enhancements and improvements.Â
- Develop tactical plans for optimizing resources within the Payroll Team, including training and backfill opportunities.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, with a focus on multi-state and international payroll processing.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, federal, and international tax guidelines.Â
- CPP and/or Canadian PCP/CPM CertificationÂ
- Experience with Workday or other modern ERP systems, with a keen interest in recommending system enhancements.Â
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex payroll information.
- Meticulous, analytical mindset, and a focus on accuracy in payroll processing.
- Excellent organizational and collaboration skills, diligence, and ability to multi-task under tight deadlines.

Listed below is this role's base pay range. In other locations that Bungie has approved for remote work, this pay range may be adjusted up to +/- 10% and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly).Â
This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Additionally, it is subject to change and may be modified in the future.Â

Bellevue Pay Range
$117,000—$141,000 USD
Â
Bungie full-time (non-contract) employees in the U.S. also receive:
- 20 days of accrued time-off in the form of PTO and sabbatical days, depending on the level of the position
- 10 paid Floating Days annually, prorated in the first year of employment based on start date
- 10 paid Bungie-observed holidays annually
- One hour of Paid Sick Time (PST) for every 30 hours workedÂ

Prospective full-time employees located outside of CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, MA, MD, MI, MN, NC, NJ, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, or WI will need to establish residency in one of the states we are compliant in within 45 days of a start date. Contractors will follow a digital first approach adhering to the location guidelines agreed upon by our third-party employer/vendor and Bungie.
