Payroll Manager

As the Global Payroll Manager at Bungie, you will lead a comprehensive payroll function overseeing a diverse workforce of employees across the U.S., Netherlands, Japan, and Canada. This role demands a seasoned professional with 7+ years of multi-state and international payroll experience, a deep understanding of tax compliance, and a proven record of successfully managing complex payroll operations. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage end-to-end payroll processes for employees across multiple U.S. states, the Netherlands, Japan, and Canada.
• Oversee payroll for various jurisdictions, ensuring accurate processing, tax set-ups, and compliance. 
• Spearhead all aspects of tax compliance, conducting research and staying updated on local, state, federal, and international guidelines. 
• Validate employee and employer payroll liabilities and payments, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Provide subject matter expertise and guidance for team members, managers, and internal/external partners regarding payroll inquiries, records, and deductions. 
• Supervise and lead a team of payroll professionals, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. 
• Work closely with HR to ensure accurate and timely updates for employee changes. 
• Partner with and support other cross-functional teams across the organization. 
• Establish a monthly and transactional control review process to ensure payroll processes comply with established internal controls. 
• Take the lead in communicating with staff on pay-related matters, addressing queries, and providing transparent information. 
• Ensure the Payroll Team fields employee payroll-related questions promptly and provides clear and concise information. 
• Manage internal/external audits as well as government agency requests. 
• Recommend Workday system enhancements and improvements. 
• Develop tactical plans for optimizing resources within the Payroll Team, including training and backfill opportunities.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, with a focus on multi-state and international payroll processing.
• In-depth knowledge of local, state, federal, and international tax guidelines. 
• CPP and/or Canadian PCP/CPM Certification 
• Experience with Workday or other modern ERP systems, with a keen interest in recommending system enhancements. 
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex payroll information.
• Meticulous, analytical mindset, and a focus on accuracy in payroll processing.
• Excellent organizational and collaboration skills, diligence, and ability to multi-task under tight deadlines.
