Our payroll team is looking for a Payroll Manager. This hybrid role, based in SLC, will be responsible for leading a team of 2-3 payroll professionals.
Job Duties include:
- Prepare and process executive payroll
- Oversee/Manage the team members of the payroll department in achieving:
- Timely and accurate preparation of multi-state bi-weekly and monthly payrolls
- Accurate time and attendance input to payroll
- Payment of taxes and other payroll withholdings
- Transmission of retirement plan contributions to plan record keeper
- Completion of other accounting functions assigned to payroll employees
- Training and staff development, including performance evaluations
- Adequate cross training and backup within the department
- Work with ADP to ensure smooth operation and resolution of any issues
- Work with HR and IT in the maintenance of payroll systems
- Strong understanding of federal and state payroll tax laws and reporting to ensure compliance
- Calculate monthly commissions and send reports to sales representatives
- Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits, and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations
- Work with other members of the Finance department management to achieve the success of the entire department
- Work with foreign entities to resolve payroll issues
- Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Required Experience:
- 5+ years' experience in payroll with extensive knowledge in payroll preparation and processes, internal controls, and payroll taxes
- Current Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), or pursuing certification
- Associate Degree required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Ability to identify, research, analyze and formulate solutions to payroll issues
- Experience with ADP preferred
- Excellent computer skills, including working with payroll systems, Excel and Access software
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Expat payroll experience a plus
