Our Finance Operations team supports our group in all financial activities, e.g. regarding accounts payable and receivable, general ledger and corporate treasury. These include asset accounting, intercompany alignment, active collecting, customs invoicing, profit and loss accounting and payment factory for DPDHL.
Our HR Services run e.g. the payroll for more than 350.000 employees within DPDHL working in 28 countries across the globe. They also offer time & attendance management, employee data administration and reporting, travel & expense processing and other services.

We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in AMERICAS at Westerville, Ohio.
Job Purpose:
The Payroll Manager is responsible for an individual HR operations functional unit (e.g. audit and control, taxation, garnishments, etc.). This role also manages workloads, schedules activities and handles employee escalations. The Payroll Manager assists with updating, documenting and implementing new policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with standards.
Your tasks:
- Responsible for service delivery for an individual HR, PR, Benefits operations functional unit (e.g., executive payroll, tax and compliance, labor payroll, etc.)
- Act as subject matter expert of the Payroll Operations team for the assigned functional unit
- Manages workloads, schedules activities and handles employee and team escalations for assigned functional unit
- Responsible for day-to-day training activities pertaining to assigned functional unit.
- Responsible for team readiness related to new process and technology implementations.
- Assists with the redefining, documenting, and implementing of new policies and procedures
- Provides recommendations for process improvements and seeks opportunities to mitigate risk and provide value added solutions to meet business needs
- Research business problems; and identifies trends and escalates to manager for guidance
- Validates root cause analysis developed by associates to discover the source of problems
- Captures and report on operational metrics; escalates issues to Manager in a timely manner
- Perform audits on data and system maintenance to ensure accuracy and adherence to service level agreements
Your profile:
Education Level
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred
Experience Level
- 5+ years of payroll experience, including expertise in a multi-state payroll environment
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Extensive US payroll experience and expertise
- Exposure and knowledge of complex HR processes that impact payroll
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Knowledge of ADP Vantage and Kronos Timekeeping, or similar time and attendance and payroll applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis
- Strong communication skills (oral & written); ability to effectively interact with others at all levels
- Bilingual (Spanish speaking), preferred

Job Description
This position manages the day to day payroll processing events to ensure accurate and timely delivery. Payroll processing activities include: maintain payroll records, ensuring accuracy of wage and overtime payment computations, payroll deduction calculations, record-keeping, and off-cycle payment processing. The Payroll Manager develops, recommends, and implements standard operating procedures. The Manager ensures compliance with company and governmental policies, procedures, and regulations. Additional Responsibilities, skills and qualifications include:
• Oversees payroll processing for up to 25,000 employees.
• Manages payroll processing activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of payroll, including input of data into computerized payroll systems, maintaining related records, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing governmental and management reports.
• Partners and supports management in understanding payroll-related issues, ensuring compliance with payroll policies & procedures, resolving problems, and developing process improvements.
• Manages one or more payroll teams, led by subordinate supervisor(s), including interviewing, hiring, developing staff, conducting performance appraisals, administering disciplinary action, and prioritizing tasks and assignments.
• Serves as liaison with other departments, units, or locations on payroll-related issues and special projects. Manages service level agreements to and with vendors and company departments.
• Ensures completion of audits on earnings and deduction totals, reviews system output (e.g., registers and reports), determines out-of-balance conditions, and prepares special reports for management.
• Develops, recommends, and implements standard operating procedures, process improvements, and internal controls to ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and company policies, procedures, and regulations. Stays abreast of regulatory changes which impact the payroll function.
• Manages payroll projects, including hardware and/or software systems implementation, payroll integrations, and conversion projects.
• Maintains confidentiality of employee and company data.
Required Education and Experience
• Payroll management experience in large, global company
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field or requisite experience
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
• Multi-state payroll processing
• Functional knowledge of automated large scale payroll application like ADP ProBusiness
• Bi-Lingual in Spanish preferred
