Reporting to our SVP of Accounting, you will manage our payroll processes and oversee all payroll administration.  The payroll manager is responsible for monitoring all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization’s payroll processing objectives, including relationships with external auditors and state and federal agencies. The majority of the employee’s time is spent planning, coordinating, managing the functions of the payroll department, and processing payroll. This position requires an extremely detail orientated person with significant knowledge of payroll administration, including state and federal regulations.
Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manages the full spectrum of payroll processing and related analysis reporting, etc.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
- Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) for management
- Prepared various journal entries, account reconciliations, and provides general ledger support as necessary
- Manage payroll supervisor responsible for most clerical functions and assist with processing as needed
- Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
- Stays current on payroll systems to achieve alignment with HR benefits and other related and to ensure effective accounting support
- Facilitates management and staff understanding of payroll procedures
- Coordination and review of information flowing from the HRIS and benefit systems
- Work in coordination with HR on various issues as needed
- Assist in the preparation of bi-weekly payroll, quarterly and annual tax reporting, etc. and support divisions as necessary
- Manage the integration of acquisitions into the payroll / HRIS / Benefit systems in coordination with HR
- Establish and maintain key controls over payroll processing, HRIS information (i.e. new hires, terminations, benefit changes, etc.) as they affect payroll
- Establish and maintain key controls over 401(k) contributions
- Coordinate Workers Compensation audit activity and coding
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5 -7+ years HRIS experience including payroll management
- Previous payroll management experience in multi-location multi-divisional environment
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now required
