Description
We are looking for a talented Payroll Operations Analyst to join our team specializing in Human Resources for our Corporate/CBS Segment in Nashville, TN/your remote home office.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Administers and participates in payroll processing activities for various payroll groups including the preparation, processing and balancing of payroll. Ensures all information received from data interfaces and manual data sources is uploaded to the system without error. Utilizes internal or external payroll technologies for payroll processing activities.
- Administers and processes payroll according to internal procedures.
- Ensures payments are calculated and paid accurately and timely; ensures proper calculation of taxes and deductions.
- Provides customer support to the sites including any off-cycle or replacement payments needed.
- Reviews the information prepared for general ledger entries and other accounting and financial reporting activities associated with payroll.
- Participates in the review and preparation of data necessary for the filing of payroll related tax returns and miscellaneous withholding forms.
- Completes year end process including year end adjustments, year end tax statements and review of year end tax filing information.
- Serves as an internal and external resource on payroll related inquiries.
- Participates in continuous improvement projects and initiatives; supports the development and maintenance of payroll process documentation.
- Ensures compliance with internal controls on payroll systems and compliance with tax and other payroll related legislation.

- Human Resources Consulting - Collaborates with partners to observe the environment and apply sound judgement informed by knowledge, skills, and experiences to identify and optimize opportunities to provide holistic solutions, while balancing the needs of stakeholders, primarily employees, with those of the organization.
- Compensation and Benefits Administration - Administers policies following Cummins plan design to ensure accurate and consistent application of Cummins policies in order to make and communicate appropriate compensation and benefits decisions; complies with local legislative and tax requirements to ensure Cummins policies meet governance and legislative requirements.
- Payroll Administration - Translates company policies, tax and legislative requirements in the delivery of accurate and timely employee payments and reporting; ensures compliance with applicable regulations and internal control procedures.
- Human Resources Business Process Execution - Manages the execution of Human Resources business processes, seeking efficiency, accuracy, positive business performance outcomes and operational agility; integrates activities across processes as needed; assures compliance with process and legal requirements; effectively balances process requirements and business leader needs.
- Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
- Customer focus - Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
- Decision quality - Making good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience required.
Experience
- Minimal level of relevant work experience required.
- Vast knowledge of GlobalView/SAP reports (Wage Type/Pay Recon/Infotype/etc.)
- Proven ability to save reports to Excel, organize, analyze, and distribute reports.
- Can be relied upon as a leader within the payroll operations analyst team.
- Driven to look for opportunities to create efficiencies and provide recommendations during policy/process changes.
- Ability to recognize anomalies when reviewing payroll data.
- Track record of implementing or recommending process changes to maintain payroll calculation accuracy.
- Role classification is hybrid. Work can be done offsite.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience, range: $64,000-$96,000. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
