Payroll Specialist
Job Description
This position is responsible for processing company payroll. Ensures accurate calculation of
wages, tax withholdings and company deductions while ensuring compliance with applicable
federal and state laws.
You will...
- Prepare statistical reports on employee pay, commissions and bonuses, vacation and sick leave, disability and workers compensation leave, taxes and withholdings, etc.
- Generate and respond to inquiries regarding paychecks and withholding.
- Maintain employee payroll records, ledgers and files.
- Ensure payroll tasks are performed for on- and off-cycle payroll processing.
- Perform bi-weekly and monthly payroll accounting responsibilities.
- Track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
- Review payroll reporting and ensures accurate filing with appropriate source.
- Prepare audit reports and supporting documentation and verifies authenticity and completeness of data.
- Complete post payroll audits and reporting, prepare metrics and track issues.
- Review and approve bank transactions, including stop payments, direct deposit recalls and check inquiries.
- Ensure set up of state tax codes for all employees.
- Perform all duties maintaining compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and other
- regulations/legislation.
- Maintain department job aids and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in other projects or duties as assigned.
- Occasional business travel may be required.

- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Zero (0) plus years of experience.
- Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Knowledge of the general practices of payroll administration.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accurate data entry skills.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Able to maintain the confidential nature of employee and company information.
Salary: $46,000 - 62,100
