Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing

  • Processes weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all Shinola and Bedrock employees, for weekly payroll submission by Wednesday at 2 p.m. EST, with the appropriate Finance and HR approvals, and is aligned with payroll budget files.

    • review new hire submissions for ADP additions
    • review change of status submissions for ADP updates
    • process terminations, including final pay, adhering to all state-specific final payment requirements
    • resolve payroll issues for employees and managers
    • review garnishment paperwork and process systematically

HSA & FSA Benefit Support

  • Process HSA & FSA employee contributions for Shinola and Bedrock employees 
    • Weekly contribution processing in ADP and import to WEX
    • Update employee enrollment and contribution changes in ADP and WEX

Compliance: Payroll Taxes, Reporting, and Employment Law

  • Apply for applicable state payroll taxes, unemployment insurance, and worker's compensation
  • Submit applicable SIT, SUI, and WC quarterly reporting following state requirements
  • Stay up to date on employment law and regulations such as min. wage, mandatory sick pay, and final pay regulations

ADP Reporting Support

  • Utilize ADP reporting to ensure all employee new hire, change of status, and termination are completed accurately
  • Prepare and analyze monthly payroll budget to actual reporting analyzing any deviations from budget

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years in payroll data processing or HR analytical role
  • 3-5 years working with a payroll processing system (ADP preferred)
  • High School diploma
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Human Resources is a plus

Hiring Overview: 
  • HR Phone Screening - 30 minutes via Microsoft Teams (camera off)
  • Technical Interview with Hiring Manger  - 1 hour via Microsoft Teams (camera on)
  • Take home assignment - 30minutes -2 hours of work
    • note: select positions may not require a case study assignment
  • Final Interview with Panel - 1 hour via Microsoft Teams (camera on)
