Job Description:

Description: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for payroll-related activities and functions to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll and payroll related payments.
Typical Duties:

1. Enters special pay transactions and deductions for biweekly payroll of 5000+ employees.
2. Responsible for the processing of Bi-weekly Payroll for 250+ employees.
3. Processes out of cycle payroll for compensation adjustments and additions.
4. Calculates and enters retroactive pay increases and employee termination pay.
5. Balance payroll deductions for AP vendor distributions and payment remittances.
6. Processes PTO Donation program requests.
7. Provides customer service to hospital employees in the resolution of payroll issues and questions.
8. Calculates, enters and responds to garnishment and levy notices.
9. Prints and prepares checks for distribution to employees.
10. Enters and maintains employee direct deposit instructions.
11. Maintains filing for payroll records and restricts access to authorized individuals.
12. Responds to requests for employment and income verification.
13. Assists with printing, preparation, mailing and reprinting of forms W-2.
14. Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 3 plus years of Payroll experience to include experience with centralized and/or automated payroll systems.
