Payroll Specialist
Job Description
Lochmueller Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our Accounting Department in Evansville, IN. This position will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. The Payroll Specialist will also play a key role in maintaining payroll records, calculating wages and deductions, and addressing payroll-related inquiries.Β This is a great opportunity to join a growing employee-owned firm with an excellent workplace culture.

In this position, the candidate will:
- Process payroll for employees accurately and on time.
- Calculate wages, deductions, and withholdings.
- Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
- Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues.
- Assist with payroll reporting and audits.
- Review and post timesheets weekly.
- Assist with tax and deduction setup.
- Complete payroll, benefit, and time-off audits and tiebacks.
- Perform month-end journal entries.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation.
- Submit required reporting such as the EEO-1 Census.
- Collaborate with HR and Accounting departments as needed.
- Perform other accounting duties as needed.
Qualifications for this role:
- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing or a related role.
- Associates degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and procedures.
- Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
