This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations across multiple international markets. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring employees are paid correctly while maintaining strict data integrity and regulatory compliance. The position requires close collaboration with HR, Finance, and external payroll providers to support seamless payroll execution across different regions. You will act as a key point of contact for payroll-related queries, ensuring a high-quality employee experience through precise and responsive support. The role operates in a fast-paced, multi-country environment where accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail are essential. You will also contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives that enhance efficiency and control across payroll operations.
Accountabilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple regions, ensuring accurate inputs, validations, and timely payroll execution.
- Perform monthly payroll reconciliations, variance analysis, and alignment with general ledger and finance records.
- Ensure HRIS and payroll systems are fully synchronized, accurately reflecting employee lifecycle changes such as hires, exits, and promotions.
- Maintain compliance with statutory requirements, including tax filings, pensions, PAYE, and other local obligations across jurisdictions.
- Support SOX-compliant payroll controls, ensuring proper documentation, audit trails, and adherence to internal control frameworks.
- Respond to employee payroll queries with clarity, professionalism, and a strong focus on resolution and service quality.
- Coordinate with third-party payroll vendors to ensure SLA adherence and operational accuracy.
- Identify process inefficiencies and contribute to automation, standardization, and improvement of payroll workflows and SOPs.
- 4+ years of experience in payroll operations, HR operations, or related finance support roles.
- Strong experience working with payroll systems such as Payfit, Gusto, Razorpay, or similar cloud-based platforms.
- Solid understanding of payroll principles, including multi-country and multi-currency environments.
- Familiarity with payroll regulations in India and the UK is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with high proficiency in Excel and data reconciliation tasks.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as SOX and internal audit requirements is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex payroll information clearly.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential employee and financial data responsibly.
